Mission Statement

Safety is fundamental to the enjoyment of a high quality of life and security in the Village. We know that a sense of personal safety, on the street, at home, and in the workplace, is one of the most important factors when people determine the quality of their lives. Crime and fear of crime have tremendous impacts on individuals, families, neighborhoods, and the Village as a whole. We also know that the Village's reputation for being a safe place is one of the key factors that businesses look at when they decide to locate or invest. A safe community attracts tourists, conventions, and residents. The Village Police Department supports the quality of life of its citizens through outcome-based initiatives such as safe schools, safe communities, highly visible street patrol, in-depth criminal investigation, along with crime suppression and prevention.
