It is our belief that "friendship is powerful medicine." Compeer of Livingston County New York uses the prescription of friendship to those adults (clients) in our community that are recovering from a mental illness. Our fully trained volunteers provide mentoring, companionship and peer relations to those adults in need. All it takes is a commitment of four hours per month for at least one year. The relationship between our volunteers and clients is mutually beneficial. Everyone needs friends! When volunteering...you never know...the life you enhance may be your own!!
