The mission of the Boston Area Rape Crisis Center (BARCC) is to end sexual violence through healing and social change.
Founded in 1973, BARCC is a community-based, grassroots organization offering free, confidential, comprehensive rape crisis services to survivors and their families. These services include a 24-hour hotline, 24-hour medical advocacy, counseling services, legal advocacy, and case management, as well as proactive community awareness and prevention services through partnerships and trainings with organizations and communities. BARCC is the only rape crisis center in the greater Boston area, and is committed to supporting all survivors of sexual violence and to changing attitudes in society which contribute to sexual violence.
