MENTORS are needed for the 2023-2024 academic school year at Alta Vista, Mountain View, or Los Altos High Schools Are you passionate about helping others and making a positive impact in your community? Consider becoming a mentor! Our program is currently seeking individuals age 22 or older who are interested in being matched with a high school student with similar interests at Alta Vista, Mountain View, or Los Altos High Schools. As a mentor, you will serve as a non-judgmental role model and provide guidance and support to your mentee. During the first month of the program, mentors are expected to meet with their mentee once a week. After the first month, meetings should occur at least twice a month, and a one-year commitment is strongly recommended. The "match meeting" between mentor, mentee, and Mentor Program Manager will kick off the mentor-mentee relationship. From there, you will collaborate with your mentee to determine future meeting locations and times. In addition to working with your mentee, you'll attend mini-trainings with other mentors to build your skills and knowledge. Mentor Program Managers will also be available to provide support and guidance throughout the program. If you're ready to make a difference in the life of a young person and help them achieve their full potential, we encourage you to apply to be a mentor today!
