Mission Statement

We are a 501(c)(3) NonProfit Organization located in McDermott, Ohio. We rescue abused, neglected, unmanagable, and unwanted horses of all types and breeds (including Mules). Then, we focus on how to best rehabilitate them so that the rescued horses can move on and be adopted into loving and nurturing homes. We work closely with area law enforcement/animal control and are often called by these agencies to pick up neglected animals that are abused, starving or in untreated poor health. animals. We do not discriminate on breed, age, condition or gender for all horses and mules are special to us. We take them in love and treat them as our own and spare no expense to see they are well again. We are not a fancy ranch or a five star farm but what we lack in facilities we make up for in love and tenderness.

Description

One of our main goals is to be able to form a riding school and arena for handicapped children so they too can enjoy the benefits and thrill of riding a horse of their very own. Another goal is to educate all horse owners about proper care for their horses.

YOU CAN HELP IN THE FOLLOWING WAYS:

We always need volunteers to help care for these horses and tend to their daily needs. If you've always wanted a horse and have never owned one, feel free to come and learn while you enjoy ours. Also, there are several horses available for adoption that need loving homes. ALL donations are always appreciated, tax deductible, and will help us get closer to reaching our goals for the rescue.

What Betty does for these horses inspires me and is nothing short of amazing. I would recommend this rescue to anyone who loves horses.

I decided to volunteer just because I have a love and passion for horses. However, after meeting Betty and learning so much from her and knowing her passion for horses is deep, I have decided to become a permanent volunteer for this organization. There is no price for the amount of education I have recieved from Betty about proper horsemanship. I almost feel guilty at times because I feel like I am over paid to volunteer just by her total appreciation and willingness to teach me. My pay check from this rescue doesn't come to me in green money, it fills my heart. Everyone who loves horses would love to have an opportunity to come out to this rescue.
