Mission Statement

The Center for the Blind and Visually Impaired is dedicated to helping individuals in the greater Delaware Valley area to prevent, prepare for, and adapt to vision loss in order to achieve independence.

Description

The Center for the Blind and Visually Impaired (CBVI)is a non-profit agency serving the needs of the blind and visually impaired in the community. Services include in-home rehabilitation, social services, transportation and escort services, Life Skills support groups, computer/access technology training both in-home and on-site and a summer residential program for blind and visually impaired high school students. CBVI also has an on-site low-vision clinic, as well as, a product demonstration store called Sight Solutions. CBVI reaches into the general community by offering free vision screenings and prevention of blindness support.

CBVI's annual fundraiser is Bike 4 Sight. Cyclists raise funds to support agency programs and can choose from five scenic routes through the Delaware, Chester and New Castle County countryside. This year's event is June 20, 2010.
