Mission Statement
The National Balloon Museum through its exhibitions and collections dedicates itself to providing the public with a comprehensive understanding of ballooning over the past 200 years. It is a non-profit instituion guided by a board of directors that is empowered to administer its programs through funding from memberships and bequests as well as private and public sources. It is the responsiblity of the National Balloon Museum to promote, teach and provide an accurate knowledge of ballooning by collecting and preserving artifacts, documents and images representative of its history.
Description
The National Balloon Museum houses artifacts of the history of hot air ballooning around the world since it inception in the 1700's. It is open to the public seven days a week except certain holidays and the month of January. We do not have an admission fee but rather accept donations from visitors and also have a gift shop to help fund the day to day functioning of the museum. It is staffed entirely by volunteers.
