Mission Statement

The District Attorney's Victim Services Division makes the criminal justice system more humane and accessible to victims of violent crime by providing comprehensive advocacy and support.

Description

Victim Services assists more than 3,000 victims a year, and has been providing services to victims and witnesses of crime and violence for more than 25 years. We have the capacity to interact with victims/witnesses who speak the following languages: Chinese, Cambodian, Italian, Mandarin, Spanish, French, Vietnamese and Russian. We also served more than 400 Asian Pacific Islander domestic violence victims in 2004 and 2005.

Victim Services is the home of several programs including:

  • Victim Compensation
  • Family Violence Project
  • Special Emphasis Homicide
  • Special Emphasis Elder Abuse
  • Special Emphasis Asian Pacific Islander Domestic Violence
  • Special Emphasis Child Abuse

If you have been a victim of a crime and need assistance, you can call our office at (415) 553-9044. A representative will speak with you and determine how we can assist you. All programs focus on the needs of victims, witnesses, and survivors of crime and violence. All services are free of cost to victims. The Division is located at the District Attorney's Office, 850 Bryant Street, Room 320, San Francisco.
