Mission Statement
The City of McAllen Human Resource department mission is to treat each person as a valued customer while contributing positively to the bottom line of the City of McAllen through comprehensive programming that displays a thorough understanding of all aspects of the human resources profession, including pro-active involvement in areas of legal compliance, and service that displays an enthusiastic interest in the lives of others.

Description
The City of McAllen located in the Rio Grande Valley of South Texas is a municipal entity. McAllen has a population of approximately 130,000 and has a tropical climate. The city is diversified economically and demographically. Many visitors come to the area in the winter time from northern states to enjoy the mild winters. Visitors are also attracted to the area from Northern Mexico to shop and do business in the city. McAllen is ten miles north of the border.
McAllen has a city manager form of government and has a mayor and six commissioners who preside over the running of the city.
