Mission Statement

The mission of the Arlington Philharmonic Association is to build a first-class symphony in Arlington, to make classical music accessible to every citizen, to promote the value of classical music within education and civic life, and to build strong, creative partnerships with schools, local government, businesses and other organizations.

Description

The Arlington Philharmonic is the new organizational identity of symphonic music in Arlington, growing out of the 60-year history of the Arlington Symphony Orchestra (ASO). In 2005 the ASO was forced to cease operations because of financial difficulties. Subsequently, in recognition of the value of a symphonic orchestra and orchestral performances to the community of Arlington and its citizens, a group of concerned musicians and orchestra supporters began planning for the creation of the Arlington Philharmonic.
