Mission Statement

MASTF advises the Santa Cruz Metropolitan Transit District's Board of Directors and Management/Staff in determining the best methods and resources for providing accessible services for all current and future senior/disabled riders of the bus system. MASTF reviews Metro programs for compliance with the Urban Mass Transportation Act, Section 504, the Americans with Disabilities Act, and all other appropriate local, state and federal laws and regulations. Santa Cruz Metro seeks to provide efficient, effective and safe transit services to the residents and visitors of Santa Cruz County.

Description

MASTF is an independent volunteer senior/disabled advisory organization. MASTF advises the Santa Cruz Metro Transit District on issues including, but not limited to: 1) The purchase of operating equipment (e.g.; buses and other vehicles, passenger lifts, kneelers, public address systems, etc.) 2) Equipment, maintenance and modifications. 3) Bus headsigns, logos and signage. 4) Bus stop locations, access requirements and needs. 5) Functional bus stops (e.g.; location, recognition, identification, pole signage, benches, shelters and obstructions) 6) Fares, schedules, routes. 7) Transit information and customer service assistance. 8) Public education and awareness. 9) All levels of Metro staff training, awareness and sensitivity. 10) Paratransit issues. 11) Other accessible public transit matters.
