Mission Statement
Ramapo for Children serves children affected by a wide range of emotional, behavioral and learning disabilities, and other pervasive developmental disorders. In addition, Ramapo Training, the professional development program of Ramapo for Children, provides staff training and program support for schools, social service agencies, parents, and community based organizations in the NY metropolitan area.
Description
Founded in 1922, Ramapo addresses the needs of fragile and needy children by offering summer camp and school-year retreat programs in a beautiful natural setting at a state-of-the-art camping facility in Rhinebeck, NY. Ramapo Training, the professional development program of Ramapo for Children, provides staff training and program support for schools, social service agencies, parents, and community based organizations in the NY metropolitan area. Drawing upon many years of youth work experience in the field of adventure-based, experiential education and therapeutic recreation, Ramapo has become an acknowledged leader in the youth service field for its innovative and focused training of educators, youth service professionals, and parents.
