Mission Statement

The Village of Arts and Humanities' mission is to build community through innovative arts, educational, social, construction, and economic and youth development programs. In all of its projects and activities, the Village seeks to do justice to the humanity and social conditions of people who live in inner city North Philadelphia and in similar urban communities.

Description

The Village of Arts and Humanities (the Village) is a multifaceted arts organization dedicated to community revitalization through the arts. The need for a new urban landscape in 1986, spawned the Village of North Philadelphia.

The Village is 12 art parks, an afterschool program, and a vision.

Placing art in vulnerable places and art making is key to improving the lives of vulnerable people. We maintain over 1.1 million square feet of vacantland in North Philadelphia.
