SUMMERFUND encourages students at Galileo Academy of Science and Technology to discover the world beyond their own neighborhood and school through participation in summer enrichment programs.

Description

SUMMERFUND helps to connect students to summer opportunities that meet their many diverse interests--exploring the outdoors, gaining new knowledge through college classes, internships and mentorships with professionals in their work setting, experiencing science in the field, studying a passion like art or astronomy. The students gain new knowledge about themselves, developing independence as well as becoming team members and leaders. They learn new skills while gaining confidence and personal insight. Through SUMMERFUND, they have access to programs that they otherwise would not have had because of program costs.
