"As Samaritans, we strive to reduce the incidence and impact of suicide through programs that befriend, support, and educate the community while offering anonymity and treating all individuals with care, dignity and respect."
The Samaritans achieves its mission through the operation of four programs: (1) the anonymous and confidential 24-hour hotline which provides unconditional, nonjudgmental, and non-religious support to those who are alone, anxious, despairing, depressed, grieving, or suicidal; (2) the community education programs to teach others the warning signs, risk factors, and effective interventions when a friend or loved one is in crisis; (3) support groups for those who have lost a loved one to suicide; and (4) the SamariTEEN Program which provides a statewide teen hotline, as well as, education and interactive programs to area youth. The Samaritans, Inc is the only organization in the Monadnock Region offering 24-hour confidential and anonymous support to those in crisis.
