Mission Statement
To inspire underserved families to achieve quality lives and build a legacy of self-sufficiency
Description
CCSI provides programs that empower families who typically receive public housing assistance to become personally and financially self-sufficient. There are two main programs where this is accomplished.
Basic Financial Training:
Four-week course that provides basic money-management skills. Topics addressed include: 1) Fundamentals of money management and saving 2) Review of credit history 3) Overview of the homebuying process
Mentoring Towards Independence
Families are paired with a mentor family who attends 9 months of Adult Basic Life Skills classes. The family is required to save towards an Individual Development Account which is matched $2:$1. The account is eligible to be used to purchase a home, pursue higher education, or start a business.
While adults are in class, their children attend the PASS program which focuses on Personal, Academic, Social, and Spiritual success. They are paired with a tutor to assist them in achieving these goals.
Personalized Financial Counseling is provided at no charge to participants of both programs.
