Description

The Alliance for Self-Improvement and Leadership was founded in 2007 by a consumer facing barriers to accessing mental health support services and the inability to locate affective or alternative to recovery programs that were not primarily based on clinical diagnosis. The agency's founder responded to this lack of services availability by creating culturally-competent mental health recovery options that are consumer-led with a focus on peer support.
