Mission Statement

Waves, Inc. is a nonprofit organization whose mission is to enable individuals with developmental disabilities to progress toward their full potential. This is accomplished through services and activities directed to: Facilitating community inclusion. Encouraging personal choice and opportunities. Enhancing a sense of personal value through successful employment or successful inclusion in community activities. Influencing quality of life in the community.

Description

Our programs are varied. Early Intervention: works with children under three who have been identified as developmentally delayed. Families are provided services within their homes and/or via community participation. County day-care and parents- day-out programs are provided free screening services, in-services, and instruction in CPR and First Aid. Adult Day Programs: provide opportunities for adults to become involved in their community based upon individual interests. Activities range from life skills to crafts to volunteer opportunities. Job Development - provides skill evaluation, job placement and job coaching services to indivduals who are able to work. Residential Services - provide living opportunities to indivuals at various levels of independence. This program serves those who need 24 hour supervision to indivuals who live alone or with roommates and need occasional assistance getting to an appointment or social event.
