To ensure that all children who have been removed from their home due to abuse or neglect are adequately and properly represented in court, that their best interests are being met, and that they are in a safe and permanent environment.

Description

5th Circuit CASA recruits volunteers from the community and trains them to speak in court for children who have been removed from their home due to abuse and/or neglect by their caregiver. Volunteers monitor a child's case and report back to the Court how that child is doing. The CASA makes recommendations based on what they believe to be in the child's best interest.
