Description

The Little Nature Museum is a 61 year old small natural science center located across from the Mt. Kearsarge Indian Museum in Warner. The Museum is open from mid-May through the end of Octboer on Fridays, Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays, and by by appointment for small groups during weekdays. Check the website for complete museum information including details about volunteering. The Museum contains many hands-on collections of fossils, shells, rocks, minerals, and corals, mounted birds, insects, bird's nests, fungi, galls, and interpretive exhibits. There's a wide variety of activities for families. An admission is charged to visit the Museum. There is a self-guiding interpretive trail, The Medicine Woods Trail, owned by the Mt. Kearsarge Indian Museum, is directly behind The Little Nature Museum. Hands-on nature programs are offered onsite and offsite for ages ranging from preschool to senior citizens. A free collaborative educational nature event, Harvest Moon and NatureFest is held in late September. Educational outdoor workshops are held during the spring and summer.
