Point Foundation provides financial support, mentoring, leadership training and hope to meritorious students who are marginalized due to sexual orientation, gender identity or gender expression.
Founded in 2001, Point Foundation (Point) is a publicly supported national non-profit organization that provides academic scholarships to lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) undergraduate, graduate and post-graduate students of merit. The mission of Point is to provide financial support, mentoring, leadership training and hope to meritorious students who are marginalized because of their sexual orientation, gender identity or gender expression. Additionally, Point provides programs that affect social change by challenging attitudes that contribute to social stigma and its resulting prejudice, which is often experienced by those in the LGBT community. By helping scores of individuals obtain a solid educational foundation, Point is building a generation of leaders, committed both to personal achievement and to increasing acceptance and understanding within society as a whole. Point achieves its mission through scholarship grants, leadership training and individual mentoring programs.
