Mission Statement
We establish after school and summer programs for elementary age children in the neighborhoods they live in.
Description
The Leaven has four main goals:
- To increase student success in the classroom academically and behaviorally.
- To inspire and enable students to make better choices for their health and future.
- To involve and equip parents to positively impact their children and their communities.
- To engage faith based groups in the work of active community service.

I full-heartedly recommend you looking into volunteering at the Leaven, whether you are a teen, young adult, mom, dad, part time employee, or retiree, you will love it! It is definitely worth investing your time into volunteering at the Leaven because you are truly impacting your community by helping the future generation rise up! You are investing in kids not only educationally but as a mentor. I have volunteered at the Leaven for almost 4 years now and it has been the most impactful experience of my whole life and I would not trade it for anything. How and When and Where you volunteer is all flexible but the Leaven would be so happy to have you join! Do not be dismayed or discouraged by the application process- it is all for safety and is important to take seriously but do not worry too much. It will be done soon enough and then you will be able to go to a site and start volunteering!!!
