Description
Canine Assisted Therapy, Inc., is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization founded in August 2009 to provide canine companionship for those in hospitals, nursing homes, assisted living facilities, and hospice organizations. With 120 therapy teams, CAT’s dedicated and passionate volunteers now serve more than 100 facilities annually, primarily throughout South Florida.
Since the beginning, CAT has set new standards in the field of animal assisted therapy, and continues to challenge the status quo. Today we reach more than 300,000 individuals per year in a wide variety of facilities and population-specific programs. Our specialties are recruiting and training therapy teams to work with children; patients undergoing physical, occupational, and recreational therapies; and individuals with special needs; and partnering with community organizations to customize programs to meet their needs.
Wherever we go, our therapy teams are hard at work "Performing Canine Magic!"
