Mission Statement
The mission of Big Brothers Big Sisters of Perry County is to develop confident, competent, and caring youth by providing them with professionally supported one-to-one relationships with caring mentors. We have been providing mentoring services in the region as Big Brothers Big Sisters since 1969, and know that our mentoring program makes a difference for the children and mentors who participate.
Description
We provide recruiting, screening, matching and follow-up support to Bigs (persons 18 and older who qualify) and Littles (ages 6-14, predominantly from single parent homes). Confidentiality is strictly maintained of all information. The County Coordinator supervises all case management for Perry County. The County Coordinator is assisted by the Steering Committee, a group of concerned volunteers in the community who assist in program development and recruitment of sponsors, as well as valuable insight into directional goal-setting. Big Brothers Big Sisters of Perry County is currently a satellite office of Big Brothers Big Sisters of Licking County, which is led by an Executive Director and a Board of Directors.
