The Mission of Community Action Council is Community Action Council prevents, reduces, and eliminates poverty among individuals, families, and communities through direct services and advocacy. We care about the entire community, and we are dedicated to helping people help themselves and each other.

Description

Community Action Council for Lexington-Fayette, Bourbon, Harrison and Nicholas Counties is a private, non-profit organization organized in 1965 to study the causes and effects of poverty in our communities and work toward solutions. The Council l combats poverty by offering opportunities for people with low-incomes to achieve self-sufficiency and providing services so that each community member and family is able to reach their full potential. The Council works to serve the low income population through advocacy, service delivery and community involvement.
