Mission Statement

EMPOWER San Diego

is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that advances progressive values and fosters local civil society by promoting civic participation and facilitating collaboration among community-based organizations.

To realize our mission, we use grassroots organizing, voter education, and coalition building. We envision a society where individuals and families have support and opportunities to thrive, communities are livable and accessible, government is transparent and accountable, and independent media flourishes.

I started out as a volunteer for Empower. They are a small organization that is very open to allowing the next generation of progressives to take leading roles in their continuing development.
