HELPING TO MAKE A HOUSE A HOME

Furnishing For Hope is a non-profit organization dedicated to helping residents who were victims of natural disasters in the continental United States continue to move forward in getting their lives back in order. How? By providing furniture and other household goods that people may need as they move back into permanent or even temporary housing. Furnishing For Hope started its work in the Gulf Coast area, helping victims of Hurricane Katrina. It's been over four years since Hurricane Katrina and its after effects devastated that region, and some residents there need more help now than they did in the days and weeks immediately following the storm.

Description

The temporary FEMA Trailers have been removed, and many people have moved back into more permanent housing - a positive development. But many do not have the resources to fill their home. F4H is helping residents to help themselves and their neighbors by assisting them in acquiring household goods, furniture and other supplies. Furnishing For Hope is also helping families who were affected by Hurricane Ike, which hit Texas in 2008. We will be continuing furniture drives and collections this fall and spring to help the families who are just now trying to get back into permanent housing.
