Mission Statement
We provide food, education, assistance, referrals to families and individuals in crisis situations, and promote community awareness of needs and available resources to at-risk and low income people in Contra Costa County.
Description
We have a variety of programs that meet the needs of our community and the goals or our organization. They include but are not limited to:
Food Distribution
The monthly food assistance we provide reduces the chances that a family will face hunger and malnutrition because they must first meet obligations for rent, medical care, or other expenses.
English
Basic ESL conversation classes with individualized instruction are offered at no cost to anyone who wishes to attend.
Senior Moments
Social gatherings and USDA Brown Bag assistance for seniors.
This program offers a friendly place for low income seniors to interact with other seniors and at the same time receive groceries and other services.
Tutoring
High School students mentor elementary and middle school children with their homework. In addition to mentoring: a healthy snack and educational activities are offered.
