We provide food, education, assistance, referrals to families and individuals in crisis situations, and promote community awareness of needs and available resources to at-risk and low income people in Contra Costa County.
We have a variety of programs that meet the needs of our community and the goals or our organization. They include but are not limited to:
The monthly food assistance we provide reduces the chances that a family will face hunger and malnutrition because they must first meet obligations for rent, medical care, or other expenses.
Latina Drop In Center
Bi-lingual workshops in Spanish and English, to promote awareness of available resources within the community.
Basic ESL conversation classes with individualized instruction are offered at no cost to anyone who wishes to attend.
Social gatherings and USDA Brown Bag assistance for seniors.
This program offers a friendly place for low income seniors to interact with other seniors and at the same time receive groceries and other services.
Domestic Violence Restraining Order Clinic & Family Law
Weekly sessions in partnerships with Bay Area Legal Aid and STAND Against Domestic Violence. Family Law with Bay Area Legal Aid is every first and third Wednesday of the month by appointment.
High School students mentor elementary and middle school children with their homework. In addition to mentoring: a healthy snack and educational activities are offered.
Holiday Adopt a Family
Provides personal adoptions for 650 families at Christmas time. Another 500 households receive gift cards, toys, and food for the holidays.
Students 2 Students
A quarterly program that provides a bag of food and breakfast to 100 school aged children in addition to a themed treat.
Is a leadership program for youth ages 13 to 18 where the young people come together to solve issues in their community.
