Mission Statement

Piedmont Hospice is guided by a tradition of personal, clinical and technological excellence. We believe that serving patients in the community setting is the most important activity of this organization. We are dedicated to providing the highest quality of patient care with compassion and respect for each person.

Description

Piedmont Hospice provides compassionate care for people facing a life-limiting illness or injury. Hospice care involves a team-oriented approach in which volunteers are an integral part. Typically, the volunteer will spend 1-2 hours each week in the home of a patient to provide companionship or to sit with the patient while the caregiver gets a break. Volunteers may provide a variety of other services as well, such as sharing a hobby, baking a cake for a patient's birthday, or running errands for the patient. Volunteers may also provide assistance in the office doing clerical tasks or engage in community education and fund rasing. Volunteers are required to paticipate in the Piedmont Hospice Volunteer Training Program, which last about 4-5 hours.
