Mission Statement

The mission of Community Access is to empower people with psychiatric disabilities to transition to independent living by engaging them in housing, job training, mentoring, counseling and advocacy programs that lead to healthy, productive lives.

Description

For 35 years, Community Access has been a caring neighbor and good friend to New Yorkers who need our help the most: young people and adults who are living with psychiatric disabilities. When they reach our doorsteps, we provide more than just housing opportunities for them. We empower them to set goals, learn job skills, and establish connections in the community that lead to healthy, productive lives. Community Access' award-winning programs have been replicated nationally and internationally, and our organization is recognized as a leader in the field. What We Provide: * Affordable housing for over 1,000 residents every year. * Job training and placement for low-income New Yorkers who are entering or re-entering the workforce. * A community clubhouse with self-help programs like nutrition counseling, financial literacy, visual arts classes, and social activities. * Advocacy efforts on behalf of the mental health community.
