To provide comprehensive out-of-school programs that keep children safe and help them achieve in school and life.

Description

· After-School All-Stars of Greater San Diego (ASAS) provides and facilitates after school programming to deter approximately 5,000 youth from school failure, criminal involvement, unhealthy behaviors and other maladaptive choices while providing academic support, health/wellness, individual and social development, recreational opportunities, and positive relationships with supportive adults in a structured environment. These elementary and middle school programs are offered through partnership with the Sweetwater Unified High School Districts, utilizing many of their teachers and other school staff as part-time employees of the program. The absolute priority of the After-School All-Stars is to provide an array of services that offers significant and expanded learning opportunities for children that protect against negative choices (school failure, drugs, crime and violence) while increasing safety, literacy, leadership, health and nutrition, socialization, recreation, and learning in technology, sports, and art.
