Description
CREER a 501 (c) (3) non-profit based in San Juan Capistrano, CA was founded in 1991. CREER Comunidad y Familia promotes education, self-sufficiency, volunteerism and personal growth through positive achievements for at-risk and under-privileged students and their families. CREER works with students, parents, teachers, community professionals, college students, and local school administrators on parental participation, after school academic and cultural classes, youth leadership training classes, and preparing for success in higher education.
CREER's Homework Club, Academic Tutoring and Cultural After-school and Summer Programs work in close collaboration with parents to improve school attendance and performance, provide enhanced educational experiences for the targeted youth population, improve their ability to succeed and be self-sufficient. Children enrolled in these programs also learn vital study skills, workmanship and the joy and pride in learning.
Most CREER families live at or below the poverty level and need assistance and encouragement to close the academic and cultural gaps that poverty. CREER bridges these gaps by setting specific strategic program’s goals. Our strong relationships with volunteers, area families, school administrators and leaders of other community organizations have given CREER a unique position to improve student's achievement in targeted schools in the CAPO USD.
