Wildfires are devastating communities across California, causing more than 300,000 people to evacuate their homes and threatening many more. The Camp Fire in Northern California -- one of three blazing across the state -- is the most destructive in state history. We want to ensure that, if you are in an affected community, you find access to shelter. And if you are looking to help with disaster relief efforts, you know the most effective ways to contribute.

The Down Syndrome Association of the Valley, (DSAV), is a local 501(c)3, non-profit organization in Eastern Ohio and Western Pennsylvania area founded in 2007 and established to provide support, resources, advocacy, education and opportunity for those with Down syndrome and their families. Our organization is open to family members, health care professionals, educators and anyone interested in helping those in our community with Down syndrome reach their fullest potential. In October of 2009 the DSAV proudly opened the DSAV Center for Success in Boardman, Ohio. Serving as the DSAV Office, this centralized location provides space for the activities, resources, support and educational programs for individuals with Down syndrome, their families and the community!
As Affiliate members of the National Down Syndrome Congress (NDSC), Affiliates in Action (AIA), Ohio Down syndrome Advocacy Network (ODAN) and the National Down Syndrome Society (NDSS), our goal is to offer resources and support to families and the communities in our surrounding area. The DSAV encourages parents, families, friends, educators and health care professionals to work together in building a future where everyone can live successful and productive lives.
