Mission Statement

Urban Peace Movement (UPM) seeks to transform the lives of young adults 16-25, to become hopeful, courageous stewards of their lives and their communities by providing coaching, life-changing curriculum, social skills development and offering leadership opportunities.

Description

Urban Peace Movement's work is two-fold. We decrease violence through events aimed at shifting the culture and mindset of violence and fear towards hope and empowerment. We also engage young people in transformational leadership trainingWe are currently engaging Oakland youth in creating a transformational leadership academy that puts young people in touch with their own power to make changes in their lives and communities.
