Promote translational research as a breast cancer advocate working with UCSF Breast SPORE Investigators.

Description

As a Specialized Program of Research Excellence grant funded by the National Cancer Institute (NCI), the SPORE promotes translational research: moving basic research findings from the laboratory to clinical settings, and clinical findings to the laboratory environment. The result of a research advocacy initiative, BSAC was one of the first research advocacy programs formally connected to the National Cancer Institute. The Core is currently composed of 10 volunteer team members, who interface between the SPORE investigators and the community.
