Mission Statement

Mission Statement

North Valley Jewish Community Center, Inc. (NVJCC) using the operational name "The-J" is a non-profit organization, founded upon Jewish ethics and values. We are committed to meeting the ever changing needs of the entire Jewish Community, to strengthening Jewish identity and to enriching the quality of Jewish life.

From toddlers to teens, from single adults to families, and to our ever growing senior population, NVJCC provides a place for people across the entire spectrum of Jewish identity to gather, to share Jewish memories and to create new ones through the experiences and friendships that develop.

By pursuing cooperation and harmony with other Jewish institutions in the community, we hope to foster community members who recognize and respect Jewish differences, which are knowledgeable of and committed to Jewish values and practice, who participate in Jewish communal and cultural life, and who manifest their religious identity in lifestyle, life choices, and life commitment. The result is a Jewish community capable of sustaining creative renewal, growth and expansion.

Through diversified social, educational, recreational and cultural programs within a Jewish setting, our goal as a community center is to motivate and activate our community by creating and maintaining positive Jewish identification. Our objective is to facilitate programs that benefit our children, families, adults, and seniors, and in so doing to support the entire community for generations to come.

We call ourselves a CWW (Center without Walls) but in reality we use various facilities around the San Fernando and Santa Clarita Valleys for our programs, events, and classes.

We used to be located on Rinaldi and Hayvenhurst until the property was sold. A band of dedicated lay people have kept the vision and dream alive for the past 6 years. We are now in a position to move forward with that dream.

We are a multi-generational agency that develops programs from pre-school age children to senior adults. We collaborate with other agencies to create community wide programs and activities.

We are in the process of building a structure for volunteers to help with community organizing.
