Events of the Heart is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization dedicated to telling the real truth about women and heart disease. Using the creative arts and the media, EOH is building a community of women across America who understand the importance and power of a healthy heart.
Our signature vehicle for Events of the Heart is a series of theatrical performances we call "Heartthrobs" written by noted authors and performed by well known celebrities that travels across the country with the urgent message for women's heart health. Heart On! premiered at Jazz at Lincoln Center in New York City featuring performances by Joy Behar, Marcia Gay Harden, Cady Huffman, Judy Gold, and Holland Taylor and honored Dr. Mehmet Oz with the first "You've Gotta Have Heart" Award. The sequel, You've Gotta Have Heart, opened in LA at the Geffen Playhouse with Eva Longoria Parker, Dana Delany, Markie Post, Brenda Strong, and Stephen Collins.
As we tour the country, Events of the Heart is turning the tide of this epidemic with the urgent message that heart disease is no longer an old man's problem, but is affecting 500,000 American women. Our goal is to raise consciousness by revealing the truth about this threat and shift the perception of womens heart disease from a them issue to an us movement. Ultimately, women will be inspired to take this message and pass it on to their mothers, daughters, sisters, partners, and friends.
