Green Mountain View

Description

Green Mountain View formed as a formal entity in late 2008. It is comprised of many of the same members of the former City-sponsored "Environmental Sustainability Task Force." The Task Force delivered 89 environmental recommendations to the Mountain View City Council in September 2008, at which point the Task Force's charter was complete and it was dissolved. Green Mountain View formed after the Task Force concluded its work, for the purpose of educating the community about living in a more environmentally friendly way and working with the City to implement the 89 Task Force recommendations. Green Mountain View is made up entirely of volunteers, and is comprised of both residents and business people who care about protecting the environment and making the city more sustainable for the benefit of future generations.
