My Friends House currently provides food, clothing, shoes, Bibles, toiletries, blankets, etc. to the homeless in the
downtown Los Angeles community and surrounding areas. Our intentions are to incorporate a short-term transition
shelter for women. In this capacity, women will be empowered to strengthen their self esteem and self worth and image
through learning experiences gained in attending seminars, workshops, speeches, among other related venues. In
essence, the women will be inspired to become positive forces in their own lives as well as in the lives of others, using
their personalized God-given gifts. We anticipate adding a component for men as well as providing grooming services for
both groups. I have been serving the homeless community on the streets of downtown Los Angeles since 1999. October
15, 2008 marked the first official day that My Friends House operated on San Pedro Street (skid row section) in Los
Angeles. Since then, the volunteers and I have served the homeless/needy community every Wednesday from noon to 2
p.m., despite inclement weather conditions. In total, we have given Bibles, food, drinks, clothing, shoes, blankets,
scarves, socks, underwear, toiletries, coats, etc. to over 5000 people! We thank God for this opportunity!
