Description

The Upper Valley Business and Education Partnership (UVBEP) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to enhancing teaching and learning by making educational experiences relevant to students and their futures. For ten years, the Partnership has served as a bridge between the classroom and the world outside the classroom by linking schools with local employers. During this time, UVBEP has customized its programming and grown extensively primarily through local financial support from participating schools, area businesses, individuals and foundations.

Our programs integrate academic standards with life skills and career development to benefit all stakeholders: students, parents, educators, employers and the community. During the 2008-2009 school year, UVBEP linked resources from more than 350 area employers to classroom learning, resulting in direct impact to over 3,600 students from 31 schools. Partnership with UVBEP is open to any school in the greater Upper Valley region of New Hampshire and Vermont.

UVBEP recognizes the importance of connecting education and work for students at an early age and expanding upon those connections throughout the entire education process. This is evident in UVBEP's wide range of programs offered: Everybody Wins! for elementary students; Junior Achievement for elementary, middle and high school students; Job Shadow Day for eighth graders; Learn to Earn for freshmen; and Training Interns and Partnering for Success for teenagers; among others. UVBEP also provides a variety of professional development opportunities for Upper Valley educators.
