Mission Statement

The Living Planet Aquarium is dedicated to celebrating life on Earth by fostering a greater awareness and knowledge of Earth's diverse ecosystem and creating a deeper understanding of our place in the global system of life.

Description

IN-HOUSE VOLUNTEER
The In-house Volunteer assists the TLPA staff with exhibits, educates the public, assists at events and birthday parties, and helps the aquarium make a difference in the community. You will have the opportunity to meet lots of new people and interact with the aquarium staff members, who share the same excitement for our Earth´s ecosystems. Join the aquarium to explore, discover, learn and make a difference.

Types of In-House Volunteers:

Rotational In-House Volunteer Duties Include: Greeting guests, informing the public about octopus/stingrays, aiding guests behind bio-facts, walking the galleries, assisting in the gift shop, helping with special events and shows, participating in birthday parties. All Ages In-House Volunteer - Non rotational Volunteer (Business Groups, Scouts, sports teams, families, and individuals) Duties Include: Helping with exhibits, behinds the scenes aquarium necessities, birthday parties, special events.

FIELD PROGRAM VOLUNTEER
Have you ever wanted to learn more about the wild environment just outside your community? If so, you should volunteer in the TLPA abroad program. Join the Living Planet Aquarium staff in venturing through Utah´s environment, collecting samples, identifying animals, eradicating invasive species, and cleaning up wilderness areas for all to enjoy. This is the perfect way to get out and see Utah´s beautiful landscape, meet exciting new people, and make a difference. Work together with the Aquarium to explore, discover, learn and make a difference.

Types of Field Program Volunteers:

All Ages Field Program Volunteer Single Day Event Field Program Volunteer.
