Mission Statement

The Foster Grandparent Program is a subsidized volunteer program that provides opportunities for older adults to build positive relationships with children and youth based on sharing, communication and trust.

Description

Volunteers, over the age of 55, who meet federal income guidelines are assigned to schools, Head Start centers, non-profit daycares and juvenile facilities to assist with mentoring at-risk and special needs children and adolescents. Adult participants receive a tax-free stipend along with other benefits while they participate in the program.
