To provide year-round sports training and athletic competition in a variety of Olympic-type sports for all children and adults with intellectual disabilities, giving them continuing opportunities to develop physical fitness, demonstrate courage, experience joy and participate in the sharing of gifts, skills and friendship with their families, other Special Olympics athletes and the community.

Description

Special Olympics Virginia, Northern Virginia is a year-round program of sports training and athletic competition for children and adults with intellectual disabilities. Special Olympics Virginia, Northern Virginia serves all of the communities of Arlington County, City of
Alexandria, and Fairfax County. Special Olympics Virginia, Northern Virginia is known as Area 26 and is accredited by Special Olympics Virginia.
