The East Ventura County Regional United Church of Christ (aka:UCC Simi) is a Christian community empowered by God to create an atmosphere for spiritual growth and learning in order to experience the reality of God.
We celebrate and embrace our diversities as we support one another in partnership with God in creation.
We are committed to use our resources to provide a dependable source of Christian love as we minister to the needs of the local and global communities.
We are a progressive, inclusive, and prophetic congregation that welcomes people without regard to doctrinal beliefs, race, nationality, ability, economic status, age, sex, sexual orientation, gender or gender orientation.
In 1998 this congregation declared itself Open and Affirming (ONA) of Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual, and Transgendered persons. We are still the only UCC church in Ventura County designated as ONA.
In July 2007, we became the first and only church in Ventura County to become a Sanctuary Congregation in The New Sanctuary Movement.
In June 2008, recognizing that county offices throughout the State of California began to issue licenses that recognize the legality of same-sex marriages, we publicly announced that we welcome all couples with equal regard who seek to covenant together in the rite of marriage.
