Mission Statement
Missouri Nurses Foundation (MNF) exists to promote professional nursing practice and assure quality health care in Missouri through philanthropic endeavors that support the mission of Missouri Nurses Association (MONA).
The primary purpose of the Missouri Nurses Foundation is to support and encourage the charitable and educational efforts of the Missouri Nurses Association. These endeavors may include, but are not limited to, professional development of registered nurses through continuing education programs, scholarship programs, and research awards for qualifying projects.
Since it's founding, MNF seeks to achieve these purposes by:
- Soliciting, receiving and accepting gifts, devises (bequests of real estate), bequests or grants of all kinds of property to use exclusively for the charitable purposes of Missouri Nurses Association (MONA)
- Acquiring, owning or using real and personal property for the charitable purposes of MONA.
- Operating as a corporation organized under the Missouri Non-profit Corporation Act to support these purposes.

Promote and enhance professional development for registered nurses
§ Ensure access to library resources.
§ Explore funding for accessing bibliographic databases through the web.
§ Explore connections with higher education, government agencies, and professional organizations for increased library resources.
§ Ensure opportunities for educational programming for registered nurses and other health care providers.
§ Look for funding opportunities for underwriting educational programming.
Promote the availability of professional nursing services for every Missourian § Expand the scholarship program to assure accessibility to nursing and health care for the public.
§ Award nursing scholarships using established process, criteria and available funds.
§ Secure funding for scholarship endowment.
Develop the financial resources to support the philanthropic mission of MNF and MONA
§ Initiate a $2million capitol campaign.
§ Develop and implement a plan to meet the goals of the capitol campaign.
§ Cultivate relationships with individuals and corporations to support MNF initiatives and endowments.
§ Seek appropriate grants to support MNF initiatives.
Improve the health of Missourians by facilitating nursing research through projects andpublic educational programs
§ Support nurse researchers by funding projects that impact on the health of individuals or groups.
§ Support nursing research by maintaining a cataloged collection of appropriate books, journals, and monographs.
§ Encourage collaborative research activities.
§ Maintain a database of nurse researchers and their research interest.
§ Identify and maintain a list of non-nurse researchers that support nursing research.
§ Increase health care knowledge of Missourians by providing educational experiences that promote health and wellness.
§ Provide or support educational activities that are taken to consumer-accessible locations throughout the state.
§ Serve as a resource for consumers desiring health information.
§ Maintain a list of health care Web sites that provide accurate and timely health information.
