Description

Challenge Denver was formed August 2006 , in affiliation with Challenge Day, to work with middle and high school students by breaking down barriers of oppression, depression and isolation. Our vision is to support Denver Public Schools in creating safe environment where success and achievement thrive.

Challenge Denver support and programs include:

  • Challenge Day - is a one day workshop for middle and high school students, teachers, parents, administrators, counselors and community members that successfully address the issues of violence, racism, teasing, stereotypes, tobacco, alcohol and drug abuse within the context of teen life.
  • Ongoing programming via Be The Change Teams in all our schools and communities to provide students leadership and empowerment opportunities in order to drive positive change.
  • Fundraising and Financial Support - ongoing awareness campaigns and events in order to drive program sustainability.

Challenge Denver's goals are to help improve student attendance and student achievement while decreasing disciplinary actions by creating schools that are safe, connected and inspired learning environments.
