Women's Transitional Care Services, Inc., works toward peace in the world by eliminating violence in our communities. Therefore, we are dedicated to the empowerment of women and children; the creation of peaceful, safe space; the promotion of equality and respect for all people; the appreciation of differences; and the social action necessary to achieve these goals.

Description

WTCS is Lawrence's only battered women's shelter. We offer a 24-hour crisis line, shelter, support groups, and legal advocacy. We are empowerment-based, and therefore we strive to create the safest environment possible in which women can identify and evaluate their choices and then make the decisions that they want for their lives.
