To advocate for abused and neglected children in the legal system.
Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) are trained volunteers who speak up for these children in court. Established in 1996, CASA is a volunteer-based organization that thoroughly researches the cases of child abuse and neglect and bringing the Juvenile Court Judge recommendations focused on the best interest of the child. Based upon their findings, recommendations focusing on the best interest of the child are made to the Juvenile Court Judge. The volunteer continues to keep the child welfare and juvenile justice systems alerted to the child's needs.
