Each year, more than 1,500 nonprofit organizations in metropolitan Washington turn to The Support Center of Washington for the up-to-date, practical skills they need to accomplish their goals. The Center distills best practices from business and the nonprofit sector and recruits expert trainers and consultants to deliver them in interactive settings. Participants report that the Center helps them to work pro-actively, learn through their work, and take maximum advantage of their limited resources. In addition to training and consulting programs, the Center coaches executives and board members, facilitates dialogue within and among nonprofits, and encourages networking that leads to collaborative efforts to improve service and make the best use of funding. The Support Center of Washington, a 501(c)(3) organization affiliated with the Support Centers of America, has served the local nonprofit community for 26 years.
